Manchester Arndale is calling on inspirational charities and community groups from around the region to apply for its Charity Star initiative, which will see the lucky winner championed by the shopping centre for a full year.
The shopping centre’s new Charity Star initiative sees the Arndale on the hunt for a dedicated charity to fundraise for over the next year. This will be the first year the centre has focused its efforts on one charity, really giving the Arndale the potential to make a huge difference to its chosen winner.
The scheme is open to all charities and community groups from across Manchester (inside the M60), and the winning organisation will become Manchester Arndale’s champion charity from November 2015 to November 2016. Does your charity undertake inspirational work within the city of Manchester? Would you like an incredible boost from the city’s central shopping centre?
Fundraising for the winning charity will start as Manchester’s famous Christmas really begins, with the launch of Manchester Arndale’s Christmas Star Grotto on Thursday November 19th in Halle Square. A key factor in fundraising for the champion charity will be the shopping centre’s Christmas gift wrap service, which raised almost £11,500 in 2014. The money raised from Christmas fundraising efforts will be a massive bonus for the winning charity, and one which will be especially welcomed during the festive period – which is a notoriously challenging time for charities.
Get your message noticed
In addition to receiving a full year’s worth of fundraising from the Manchester Arndale team, the chosen Charity Star will also land the use of over £17,000 worth of commercial space within the centre. This space can be used to publicise the charity’s work and advertise branded promotions. Given the mammoth footfall the Manchester Arndale receives, especially during the hectic Christmas period, it goes without saying that this has the potential to rocket the chosen charity into mass public awareness.
