Competing at the top end of the market alongside the likes of Sky and TalkTalk for your custom, Virgin Media are one of the countries top premium subscription services. Becoming the first true ‘quadruple play’ service provider, Virgin can supply not just premium rate subscription television, but also fixed-line telephone services, broadband – including fibre services – and also mobile phone subscriptions. virgin-media-advert-boltHaving adopted the brand made famous by Richard Branson, Virgin wanted to provide something different for their customers as opposed to Sky’s satellite service. Instead of using satellite dishes to broadcast their TV signal, Virgin use underground cable, allowing huge coverage throughout the country. However, they do not have 100% coverage as some towns and areas still report that they do not have cable available. Still Virgin enjoy a large amount of market domination in an incredibly competitive medium. If you require to contact Virgin Media regarding existing Virgin Media products, or you wish to talk about a new subscription, then use our Dial2Donate number. When you call not only will your query by answered but also you’ll be able to donate to one of our chosen charities. virgin-media-box

As two of the biggest crowdfunding websites available on the web for charities, it can be difficult to work out whether it is best for your appeal to go on either JustGiving or Virgin’s own site, Virgin Money Giving. Both sites have their advantages and disadvantages  – and in order to try and make the choice as simple as possible, we’ve created this infographic so that you can easily compare the two.

JustGiving vs Virgin Giving

Virgin Giving vs Justgiving

One important thing to note immediately is the fact that while JustGiving is a worldwide operation, Virgin Money giving only really operates in the UK – and thus, this is why the organisation are dwarfed in terms of their following and total amounts raised. Perhaps the most telling stat is the amount of different charities registered with each – with both being tied on 13,000, which seems to indicate that they have a similar amount of reach when it comes to their influence in Great Britain.

Although the amount that charities are charged to be on the site does not massively affect those who are fundraising (as this is generally done by individuals), the amount that is actually passed on to the appeal does tilt the balance in Virgin Giving’s favour – with an extra 41 pence per £12.50 going to charity. Over the course of an appeal that earns £2,500, this would amount to an extra £81, which could make an enormous difference for some smaller charities.

JustGiving can be found here, while Virgin Money Giving can be found here. If you’ve got any preference or extra information to add to the infographic, get in touch with us at support@dial2donate.org.
