Established in 1966 and achieving charity status by 1967, the Society for Abandoned Animals provides an invaluable services throughout Stretford, Manchester and beyond. However, housing, re-homing and caring for their menagerie takes time and of course a constant stream of money. So, that is where the pressing issue of must-have funding comes in. The need for valuable income took a hard blow for the Society as it sadly lost the one thing which provided a constant source of money – their charity shop. Forced to close due to ‘lack of funding’ would you believe, the SAA charity shop was no longer able to continue its vital work. Although, having suffered a shattering experience the lifeline that Society for Abandoned Animals provide must continue.
It has been down to generous donations of money and materials via the centre itself combined with tireless fundraising and kind-hearted volunteers which have kept this wonderful and needless to say necessary cause running. Despite the Society’s sterling efforts, further donations are always and will be always required. Their online wish list of items is testament to that. So, come on, let’s dig deep and maintain this marvellous mission.
