Fast becoming one of the largest retailers in the UK, Boohoo clearly have a heart as well as an eye for fashion as they recently announced the launch of their latest #famouslastwords initiative. Partnering with Style for Stroke for the newest addition – this iteration being the second time that they have updated their charity range – the tees launched before Christmas and have proved to be a hit among morally conscious style hunters.
Working alongside celebrities such as Kelly Osbourne, Mel B, Lilah Parsons and DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford, the line is running exclusively on Boohoo.com, and promises to give a substantial amount of the purchase price going to charity. At the time of release, this was reported as 25% – and with the shirts ranging from £10 – £12, that could amount to £3 going towards charity.
Need to raise awareness
The idea behind the line is that the celebrities involved design a t-shirt around what they hope to be remembered for – which is where the #famouslastwords initiative comes in. The funds will end up with the Stroke Association – although Boohoo clearly hope that their line will also generate awareness of the charity among younger people, who are their main demographic.
Speaking at the launch, Boohoo’s joint Chief Executive Carol Kane said, “We are so pleased to be able to help support the return of the #famouslastwords campaign. This is a wonderful charity and we are proud to be able to help deliver greater awareness among the UK’s younger generation.”
