Following a spate of bad press, London-based taxi firm Addison Lee has introduced a diploma for its drivers, which includes equality training.

Recent reports had stated that a small number of the company’s drivers were allegedly kicking gay couples out of their cars. The company believes that every driver should be educated about equality in order to give “the possible service to the customer”.

Drivers will participate in intense training, and they will be made familiar with the Love has no Labels campaign, reinforcing the message of acceptance.

Addison Lee believes that this training will help solve any problems that drivers have with equality and diversity.

LGBT charity Stonewall is aware of the training and has given feedback on how it has been actioned.
